It finally happened...

... Friday night was Shakespeare in the vines at work and I went to see A Midsummers Night Dream with my three lady friends Rach, Krys and Sarah, which was briliant! More later about that but as it ended Sarah (the one from north Ireland) pointed out something off in the distance... We topped up our wine glasses and headed off into the vineyard, joined by another couple who noticed the same thing... It was magical, a duo of roos hopping through the vines!!! It was awesome.
Also this week I picked up a new set of skills... Bag in box wine filling! My new favorite packaging... So easy and simple... Filling a 10 liter bag in about 5 seconds!!! (Note: a case of 12 bottles is 9 liters)
Earlier in the week we recieved another 5 tonnes of chardonnay. Should start fermenting this week, very exciting stuff!
Worked a bunch in the lab through out the week and a lot of the vineyard samples are looking close to being ripe and with the warm weather forcasted, this week might finally be the start of what I've been waiting for!
Not sure if I mentioned it before but I was interviewed by work about my winemaking travels and this week I got my picture take, by pro photographers, I think they were also taking pics allover the winery but I like to think it was just for me. Said the article is due out in match in the church/wine club magazine.
As I said before Friday night i watched a play with my ladys... We packed a delicious picnic basket... Stinky cheese, olives, prawns, chicken satay, a hummus like dip made with cashews (amazing!) and I bought a few bottles of sevenhill wine. Not having read or seen it before I was a little lost... Didn't help that there was only a total of 8 or 9 actors plaything like 20 roles... But it was very fun and we had a great time. And the kangaroos were icing on the cake... Which was my first live wild sighting along with another American girl that was chasing them down too. After the play we hung out for a while... Talked the ladies selling the wine to give us the leftover partial bottles and headed into Clare to the football oval (its for Australia rules football, watched a couple games, very confusing, seems like a blend of football, soccer and/or rugby and perhaps hacky sack) there was a benefit concert for the Victorian bushfires... We snuck in a couple bottles and bought a few beers and watched the band for a while, meeting up with the girl's significant others... Reminded me I was single and not on a date with 3 girls at once :-///
Today (sunday) I finished some laundry, went grocery shopping and replaced the showerhead (I know, I know, I'm very handy) later got a invite to head out to the little historic town of Mintaro to hang out, wine taste (reilly's wines & mintaro wines) and enjoy the beautiful weather with a cold beer.
This might be my last free weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed!
