G'day mates!

Hello all!
Well not sure if it's been reported on the news there but it's blistering hot over here, breaking records for highs and # of days over 40C (about 100F). Usually it would be fine working in a winery, its usually cool in the cellar but not here... It's just as hot inside as it is outside.
But work is great! I'm very excited to get the first load of grapes in which are estimated to come next Wednesday. This week has been long I was working solo for most of the time... Filling and emptying barrels, tank transfers and blending, filtering a little (which is not easy alone on a machine we're still guessing how to run properly) and preping wine for bottling . The goal is to get all of the wine in tanks bottled or in barrels before we start the harvest, never seems to be enough empty tanks during vintage.
Monday should be fun, the full crew will be here. Will, who I have been working with from the start, will be back from taking his final college exams. And 2 new guys (or perhaps girls ?, fingers crossed) will be starting so there will be some extra hands around. Should be mostly cleaning all the tanks, pumps and grape processing equipment. I'm getting really tired of pressure washing the floors so I know what I'll get the new guys to do, hehe.
The other night there was a wine industry dinner at the Sevenhill pub, kind if a welcome party for all the travellers in the Clare valley for the harvest... Lots of internationals and Aussies, only one other American tho. Sound like every Wednesday night is industry night, a night to mingle again, tell stories and keep in touch. A group of us might go wine tasting this weekend, weather permitting, Sunday is suppose to drop down to the mid 80s so it will be a welcome relief. It's nice to meet like minded traveller to share adventure strories with and hear where they've been and where I should head next.
Keep the emails coming! Miss ya too
